Megan Pask – Interior Design Presentation
The Year 10 Visual Communication Design students were fortunate to have Megan Pask visit the class to share her experiences and insights into the design industry.
Megan spoke about her journey from studying Visual Communication Design at school, through to studying Interior Design at university and eventually establishing a career within the design industry. Her presentation provided students with a valuable insight into the pathways available within the design field and demonstrated how skills developed at school can lead to future study and career opportunities.
A key focus of Megan’s presentation was the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the design industry. She discussed how AI is influencing the design process, particularly during the development and refinement stages, while highlighting the importance of the designer’s creativity, decision-making and ability to respond to client needs.
Megan also outlined the typical processes involved in working with clients, from initial ideas and concept development through to refinement and final outcomes. Her presentation gave students an authentic understanding of the professional design process and encouraged them to consider the opportunities available to them through Visual Communication Design.
The students greatly benefited from Megan’s industry experience and appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from a practicing designer about her study and career journey.
